Toolset for developing 3D games and visual simulations. The RealmForge GDK is a an open-source and cross-platform middleware written entirely in C# and designed for productivity and the creation of script and data-driven games. It includes a run-time development toolset (In-Game Editor) which integrates directly into the engine, allowing design, development, and modding within the game itself.
This engine’s graphics is powered by Axiom, the C# port of the OGRE shader-driven rendering engine, and support for other rendering engines is being developed as well. The component-oriented architecture allows for extension and includes the components needed to develop a game or simulation. This platform provides an extensible event-based model for communication and design. Scripting can be done with compiled speeds in any of the .NET languages ranging from C# and VB.NET to JavaScript and Python.
Components included: - Physics (ODE, OPAL.NET) - Audio (OpenAL, DirectSound) - Rendered GUIs (CEGUI, OGRE Overlays) - Custom serialization - Networking (works with .NET Remoting) - Input (DirectInput, SDL) - Particle systems - Asset management - Scripting
